Prairie picked up its sixth win of the season Friday in a cold and rainy rivalry game against Battle Ground at District Stadium.

The Falcons put up 437 yards of offense on the Tigers, winning 39-28. Colin Seitz had 275 yards through the air.

“It’s was a great game to play in,” Seitz said. “It’s a great feeling to be going into the playoffs on a four-game winning streak.”

Trailing 27-7 at halftime, Battle Ground scored back-to-back touchdowns to pull within six points. But as soon as the fourth quarter started, Prairie drove down the field. Capping off the drive was Tyler Duncan with a 9-yard touchdown run.

Falcons’ defensive back/wide receiver Ansel Cecil sealed the win with 2 minutes left with an interception returned for a 27 yard touchdown.

“It was great to see the team keep fighting, and in the end we were able to pull off the win,” Cecil said. “It’s always nice to beat the rival.”

The Tigers gained 282 yards of total offense. Trevor Ingram scored two touchdowns and had 201 yards rushing.

“Tonight’s game was in good spirits and the players came out and played hard,” Prairie coach Terry Hyde said. “The game was a lot of fun to watch, and I’m glad we were able to come out on top.”
