Stony Brook beats Albany (NY) 76-69

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Dave Coley scored 17 points and Al Rapier tallied a double-double to lead Stony Brook over Albany (N.Y.) 76-69 on Saturday night.

Bryan Dougher added 14 points, Anthony Jackson 11 and Rapier finished with 10 points and 12 assists in the Seawolves’ sixth straight win. Stony Brook (15-7, 10-1 America East Conference) has also won 12 of its last 13, holding opponents to 68.7 points during the stretch.

The Seawolves trailed 33-30 at halftime, going 13 of 27 from the field (48.1 percent). Stony Brook then hit 58.1 percent from the field (13 of 22), including 5 of 8 from long range (62.5 percent).

The Seawolves grabbed just two more rebounds than Albany (34-32), but made them count, scoring 17 second-chance points.

Suero Gerardo led the Great Danes (15-10, 8-3) with 21 points. Mike Black and Logan Aronhalt chipped in 15 points each for Albany.
