The cause of a two-alarm fire that destroyed two buildings at a Washougal dairy earlier this month is likely to remain undetermined, the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office said Wednesday.
“It was a pretty intense fire,” said Clark County Deputy Fire Marshal Richard Martin.
The blaze was reported at 12:30 a.m. July 2 at Stauffers Dairy Farm, 541 S.E. Blair Road. East County Fire & Rescue requested a second alarm. Camas-Washougal and Vancouver fire departments also responded.
The fire destroyed the milking and loafing sheds. Stauffer family members said they didn’t believe any cows were killed in the blaze. The farm has been in business since 1937.
A relief fund for the family has been set up at Columbia Credit Union. Donations can be made to “The Stauffer Dairy Farm Fund” at any branch.
