Riverside Christian School in Washougal has hired a new principal.

Heidi Kruger, a teacher at Lincoln City Christian School, is taking the place of current principal Dan Wister. He will move to Spokane, to head up Palisade Christian Academy.

In addition to administrative duties, Kruger will also be a teacher for the upper grades.

Currently, Kruger teaches fifth- and sixth-grade.

“Teaching is my passion,” she said. “I have known since I was little that I wanted to be a teacher and mentors along the way have fueled and inspired me in this pursuit. As I work with students, my goal is to infect them with an insatiable love of learning that will continue through the rest of their lives.”

Lynda Logan, school board chair, noted that Kruger has a blend of “teaching expertise and business experience.”

“It makes her a perfect fit for the unique needs of the school,” she said.

Kruger’s husband, Tim, and three children will be making the move with her.
