Tiz Miz Sue wins $150K Azeri Stakes at Oaklawn

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) — Tiz Miz Sue made it two in a row in the $150,000 Azeri Stakes at Oaklawn on Saturday, making a move on the stretch turn and holding off Don’t Tell Sophia In for the victory.

Trained by Steve Hobby and under Joseph Rocco Jr., Tiz Miz Sue finished the 1 1/16-mile Grade 3 race for older females in 1:45.1.

Tiz Miz Sue finished 114 lengths in front, and My Miss Aurelia, was 412 lengths behind Don’t Tell Sophia to show.

The Azeri is a prep race for the Grade 1, $500,000 Apple Blossom Stakes on April 12.

The winner paid $18.40, $5.20 and $2.80. Don’t Tell Sophia $3.40 and $2.20 and My Miss Aurelia paid $2.10.

Also running were Songs and Sonnets and She’s All In.
