Fisher’s Landing East — Rotary Clubs of Clark County kicked off another round of its “Rotary Gift of Words” project last month by handing out dictionaries to Crestline Elementary School third graders. Rotary members, Evergreen Public Schools Superintendent John Deeder and even Abraham Lincoln (portrayed by Steve Holgate) gave the kids dictionaries and explained the importance of literacy during a presentation in late October. Rotary will distribute more than 4,700 dictionaries to kids all over the county during the ongoing project.
