Warren’s Veneda wins Cat’s Cradle

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Warren’s Veneda gained the lead with an eighth of a mile to go and went on to win the $100,000 Cat’s Cradle Handicap by three-quarters of a length at Betfair Hollywood Park on Sunday.

Ridden by Joe Talamo, Warren’s Veneda ran 712 furlongs on Cushion Track in 1:29.72 and paid $4.60, $3.40 and $2.20 as the 13-10 favorite.

Curvy Cat returned $5.40 and $3.40, while stablemate Sister Kate was another 514 lengths back in third and paid $3.60.

Warren’s Veneda improved to 3-0 at the track. She has been worse than third just once in her career. She has five wins in 10 career starts and earnings of $282,064.
