Southern turns aside NAIA Blue Mountain, 76-59

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Three players each tossed in a dozen points to lead Southern to a 76-59 win over NAIA Blue Mountain College Monday night.

Calvin Godfrey, Cameron Monroe and Tre Lynch each scored 12 points for the Jaguars (2-5), who jumped out to a 41-28 lead after a half and cruised home with the victory.

Southern shot better than 50 percent from the field (30 of 59) and dished out 19 assists as a team.

Shane Butler scored 14 points and Jarvis Fisher added another 10 for Blue Mountain, which shot a cool 20 of 49 from the field and was just 4 of 19 from beyond the 3-point line.
