A Woodland man was seriously injured after the motorcycle he were riding crashed into a deer early Monday near Ridgefield.

Joshua Adams, 34, of Woodland was driving a custom full-sized 2009 Yamaha south on Northwest 31st Avenue in the 30300 block about 5:40 a.m. when a deer ran onto the road, and the vehicle struck the animal, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The sheriff’s office said that Adams and his passenger, Erin Graham, 34, of Vancouver were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Graham was not listed as being admitted to the hospital, but Adams was listed in satisfactory condition Monday night, a nursing supervisor said.

The deer died at the scene.
