Bella Vista — Monica Neice and Ruth Wilmoth have been awarded a 2013 Vancouver Sparkles Award by their neighbors. Sparkes Awards recognize residents who go the extra mile to make their neighborhoods special through volunteerism, beautification and more. Neice and Wilmoth have teamed up to write grants that have gained Bella Vista Park native plantings and improvements to the community food garden as well as street trees. Neice and Wilmoth were recognized at the neighborhood picnic on Aug. 25.
