Graduates of NAACP Vancouver’s “Rites of Passage” class will be on hand at a rescheduled celebration of Black History Month.

Black History Month is February, but the event was delayed due to snowy weather. It’s now set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Vancouver Housing Authority building, 2500 Main St.

Group officers will be introduced, and there will be speeches about great figures in black history, according to organizer the Rev. Marva Edwards. There will also be snacks and music, she said.

Everyone is invited to attend. The group requests one can of nonperishable food that will be donated to a local shelter.

Call Edwards at 360-750-1224 for more information.
