The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating what caused a fire early Saturday morning at a halfway house.

Firefighters were called to 2401 Carlson Road in Vancouver at about 4:30 a.m.

The 1,300-square-foot house, which had working fire alarms, sustained an estimated $200,000 in damage, Vancouver Fire Marshal Heidi Scarpelli said.

The fire left five adults without a home. The Red Cross has offered them temporary emergency assistance, including lodging, food, clothing and mental health services.
