The two people accused of intentionally running over a Vancouver man who later died now face murder charges.

A Multnomah County grand jury last week indicted Russel Courtier, 39, and his passenger, Colleen Hunt, 35, for suspicion of murder following the Aug. 10 incident that left Larnell Malik Bruce dead, according to the Gresham Police Department.

Bruce, 19, encountered Courtier and Hunt outside a Gresham 7-Eleven just before 11:45 p.m. Aug. 10 and witnesses said that Bruce tried to flee the area after a physical altercation with Courtier, police said.

As Bruce ran north on Northeast 188th Avenue, Courtier chased after him, driving a 1991 Jeep Wrangler, police said. Courtier caught up with Bruce and ran over the Vancouver man before fleeing the scene, police said.

Bruce was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, but died the following Saturday as a result of his injuries.
