The sheriff’s office is looking for a shoplifter and accomplice who struck a pedestrian in their vehicle while making their getaway in mid-July.

According to information shared by the sheriff’s office Monday, a man fled the Lowe’s Home Improvement store at Northeast 117th Avenue and Northeast 76th Street July 14, after stealing some items from the store.

An accomplice waiting in a car raced through the parking lot to pick up the man and struck a pedestrian walking toward the entrance, knocking the shopper to the ground, the sheriff’s office said. The victim was taken to the hospital.

A witness snapped a photo of the suspects’ vehicle as it headed south on 117th Avenue, and store surveillance video captured an image of the suspected thief, which the sheriff’s office shared online.

The vehicle was a blue Chrysler four-door without plates and with a temporary license in the rear window.

The sheriff’s office asked anyone with helpful information on the case to contact Deputy Zach Nielsen at 360-397-2211, ex. 5491, zach.nielsen@clark.wa.gov.
