Two local golfers remain in contention at Oregon Amateur golf tournament

Camas High graduates Humphreys, Snoey advance to round of 32

Two local golfers — Brian Humphreys and Daniel Snoey — advanced to the round of 32 at the Oregon Amateur Wednesday at Columbia-Edgewater Country Club in Portland.

Humphreys, a Camas High graduate and Boise State golfer, beat Brent McKee of Portland 2 & 1. Snoey, who is also a Camas High graduate, beat Johnny Ward of Lake Oswego, Ore., 2 & 1.

Mountain View High School student Graham Moody played 21 holes before falling to Carson Barry of Eagle, Idaho.

Five other local golfers lost in the first-round of match play. Jake O’Neal fell to Chris Dukeminier of Portland (1-up), Jonathan Romano fell to Chris Polski of Eugene (3 & 2), Taylor Klopp lost on the 19th hole to Alex Wrenn of Lake Oswego, Bradley Karns lost to Sam Renner of Bend (7 & 5) and Braeden Campbell lost to Jason Wood of Portland (2 & 1).

The lone remaining entrant in the women’s tournament, Prairie graduate Delainey Patterson, lost to Alexa Udom of Portland (8 & 7).
