Letter: Support LaBrant for port election

Vancouver’s impressive, modern waterfront did not just happen. The gleaming high-rise buildings and riverside park would not have been possible without the years of grassroots climate activism that defeated the proposed oil terminal.

A champion in that effort was Port Commissioner Eric LaBrant, who was elected in 2015 as an anti-oil terminal candidate. (The election of Don Orange followed two years later, solidifying an anti-oil terminal port commission.)

Let’s reelect Eric LaBrant. At the same time, let’s celebrate the port’s climate action plan and its “green” economic successes.
