Prairie’s Alex Ford is the Northwest Personal Training Week 20 prep athlete of the week

Ford won 160-pound title at 3A state wrestling meet

Prairie wrestler Alex Ford is the Northwest Personal Training Week 20 high school athlete of the week.

Ford beat out Kelso’s Natalie Fraley for the honor.

Ford became the first state champion from Prairie since 1987 when won the 3A 160-pound division with a pin in the title match.

Here are the other nominees:

LIAM DUNN, HOCKINSON SWIMMING: Dunn was the state runner-up in the 50 freestyle and placed fifth in the 100 backstroke at the 2A state meet.

SAM EMPEY, UNION BOYS SWIMMING: Empey was the state runner-up in the 100 butterfly, placed fourth in the 50 freestyle and helped Union place in two relays at the 4A state meet.

NATALIE FRALEY, KELSO GIRLS BASKETBALL The senior scored 27 points in a win over Gig Harbor and 35 against Auburn as Kelso won the 3A bi-district title.

CJ HAMBLIN, MOUNTAIN VIEW WRESTLING: Hamblin completed an unbeaten season by winning his third state title, capturing the 3A crown at 170 pounds.
