One person was killed in a single-car collision Saturday on state Route 503 north of Lewisville Park, the Washington State Patrol said.

According to the patrol, a Nissan Pathfinder traveling north on 503 left the roadway at Milepost 13 around 8:45 a.m., striking a sign and a tree on the right shoulder.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Hayden Wellman of Yacolt, was declared dead at the scene. The patrol said Wellman was not wearing a seat belt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
