Bethune-Cookman beats North Carolina Central 42-17

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Isidore Jackson ran for 164 yards and two touchdowns to lead Bethune-Cookman past North Carolina Central 42-17 Saturday in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference showdown.

After a 1-yard touchdown run by Adronicus Lovette gave Bethune-Cookman (6-2, 5-0) the lead, Jordan Reid found Detwan Robinson for a 15-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 7.

The Wildcats then answered when Quentin Williams found Preston Cleckley for a 76-yard bomb to go ahead 14-7.

Jordan then found Decona Roberts for a 28-yard touchdown, tying the game at 14 before halftime.

Oleg Parent’s 23-yard field goal with 7:23 left in the third quarter gave North Carolina Central a 17-14 advantage, but was the Eagles’ only points of the half.

Bethune-Cookman outscored the Eagles 28-3 in the second half, including a career-best 93-yard run from Jackson.

Jordan Reid led North Carolina Central with 154 yards on 15 of 28 passes but threw two interceptions.
