Nominees for high school fall sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 12. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday's Columbian.

NICOLE GOECKE, PRAIRIE: Goecke place second at the Sandelie XC Classic in Wilsonville, Ore., in 18 minutes, 5 seconds, helping Prairie place second in the team standings.

KADEN HARBERTSON, SKYVIEW: Harbertson placed second at the Sandelie XC Classic in Wilsonville, Ore., in 15 minutes, 47 seconds, helping the Storm place second in the team standings.

SAM RICE, RIDGEFIELD VOLLEYBALL: Rice had 57 assists, 16 digs, two kills and three blocks in the Spudders' two 2A GSHL wins last week.

DARYA SAMIEE, MOUNTAIN VIEW SWIMMING: Samiee won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.4 and the 500 freestyle in state-qualifying time of 5:19.23 at the Kelso Invitational.

SPENCER TIBBITS, FORT VANCOUVER BOYS GOLF: The freshman won the 3A district championship after shooting a 4-under 138, including a 7-under round of 65 in the opening round at Tri-Mountain.
