A Vancouver man seriously hurt in a motorcycle crash Friday evening remained at a hospital in serious condition Monday, and the crash was still being investigated.

Matthew Peterson, 28, was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Friday night after his bike went off the road in the 42800 block of Northwest 15th Avenue, near Northwest 15th Avenue and Hayes Road in Woodland.

According to Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Alex Schoening, witnesses told deputies Peterson was traveling quickly while passing a vehicle just before he went off the road.

Peterson then struck an embankment, sending him airborne. Both Peterson and his motorcycle then struck a vehicle heading the same direction.

Peterson was the only one hurt in the crash. The hospital said Monday afternoon he was listed in serious condition.

Schoening said deputies were still investigating the crash.
