Robert Morris beats Fairleigh Dickinson 67-55

HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) — Velton Jones scored 22 points to lead Robert Morris over Fairleigh Dickinson 67-55 on Thursday night, securing a sweep in the season series against the Knights.

Lucky Jones added 16 points and Lijah Thompson had 14 for the Colonials (14-6, 5-2 Northeast Conference), who also beat Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 1.

Robert Morris had a 27-26 edge at halftime in this one, but came out strong in the second and outscored Fairleigh Dickinson 40-29 in the final 20 minutes to clinch the win.

The Colonials won the rebounding battle 32-28, while outscoring the Knights 26-18 in the paint and 25-8 off turnovers. Fairleigh Dickinson gave the ball away 18 times.

Melquan Bolding led the Knights (1-17, 0-7) with 15 points. Fairleigh Dickinson is on a 14-game losing slide, the Knights’ last win coming on Nov. 18 versus Saint Peter’s, a 4-15 team.
