Week 5 fall sports athlete of the week vote

Nominees for high school fall sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 12. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.

NICOLE GOECKE, PRAIRIE: Goecke place second at the Sandelie XC Classic in Wilsonville, Ore., in 18 minutes, 5 seconds, helping Prairie place second in the team standings.

KADEN HARBERTSON, SKYVIEW: Harbertson placed second at the Sandelie XC Classic in Wilsonville, Ore., in 15 minutes, 47 seconds, helping the Storm place second in the team standings.

SAM RICE, RIDGEFIELD VOLLEYBALL: Rice had 57 assists, 16 digs, two kills and three blocks in the Spudders’ two 2A GSHL wins last week.

DARYA SAMIEE, MOUNTAIN VIEW SWIMMING: Samiee won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.4 and the 500 freestyle in state-qualifying time of 5:19.23 at the Kelso Invitational.

SPENCER TIBBITS, FORT VANCOUVER BOYS GOLF: The freshman won the 3A district championship after shooting a 4-under 138, including a 7-under round of 65 in the opening round at Tri-Mountain.
