A Portland motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash on an Interstate 5 onramp early Monday morning.

Johnny Johnson, 64, was driving a 2001 Suzuki VL 1500 motorcycle on the 78th Street onramp to southbound I-5 at about 2 a.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.

Johnson did not slow for traffic and crashed into the back of a 1995 Subaru SVX driven by Tyler Pyles, 21, of Vancouver. Pyles was not injured.

Johnson was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition Monday night. Johnson was cited for speeding, according to WSP.
