Gabe Lindblom scored 11 of his game-high 23 points in a deadlocked first quarter in a battle of Eagles, but Pope John Paul II of Lacey broke away over the next two periods for the win.

Hie Vu scored 23 points to lead the visitors, dropping Firm Foundation to 1-8, 0-2 in 1B Columbia Valley League play.

Firm Foundation coach Jake Bechtel said a lack of depth was the team’s downfall.

“Our guys ran out of energy,” he said. “By the end of the third quarter, we were just gassed.”

Joey Arrunategui added 18 points for Firm Foundation.
