Prep highlights: Camas sweeps team titles at Tiger Invite track meet

The Camas High track and field team came away from Battle Ground with a sweep of the boys and girls team titles at the Tiger Invite on Saturday.

The Camas boys dominated with 144 points. Union was a distance second with 78, and Evergreen third with 65.

The Camas girls had a closer result, edging out Skyview 114-112. Prairie was third with 61 points.

Camas’ Madison Hubbard’s won 100-meters in a meet-record time of 12.09 seconds. The previous record was 12.36 in 2014.

On the boys side, Cody Wheeler’s winning throw in the javelin of 184 feet, 6 inches broke Hockinson’s school record.

Stars of the day

  • Casen Reed, Davis Wolfley, JJ Thompson and Michael Gordon, Mountain View baseball, all had run-scoring hits in a six-run fourth inning that brought the Thunder back from a 4-1 deficit on their way to beating Hillsboro, Ore., 11-6.
  • Dylan Richardson, Union baseball, went 2 for 3 with a double and solo home run in the Titans’ 3-1 win over La Center.
  • Ryder Shafer, Mountain View boys soccer, scored the only goal of the match in the second half as the Thunder won 1-0 at Kamiak.
