Masons work on the basalt facade of one of two new pedestrian tunnels under Highway 14 along the Cape Horn Trail. The tunnels, funded with a $2 million federal grant, will improve safety along the rebuilt loop trail, which is scheduled to open in late summer, in time for the 25th anniverary of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
