Portland State University student Leonard Caldwell arranges treated steel and concrete panels designed to repel invasive mussels. Researchers are putting almost 900 panels in the Columbia River at the Port of Camas-Washougal to test the durability of the coatings applied to them. At top, a close-up of a zebra mussel.
