"Midnight Light" by Lijah Hanley came in second place in the National Geographic Student Expedition Contest. It's a dual exposure self-portrait. He shot one 10-minute exposure of the beach and a second 30-second exposure of himself for the image. "It was almost completely dark out there, and yet the camera picked up so much light," he said.
