It was worth it. We need to honor those who put their lives on the line each day. Sending 50 local officers -- some of whom worked the memorial service -- was appropriate. 32% 263 votes
As local governments begin layoffs and cutbacks to make ends meet, $34,000 in taxpayer money seems -- at best -- excessive. Couldn't we have sent fewer officers? 57% 465 votes
