Clark County Forester Jim Vandling looks over a crowded tree stand in the northwestern section of Camp Bonneville, which will be thinned and sold this year as part of the county’s sustainable forest plan. The forests should be growing at a rate of six percent a year; this particular stand has been growing at 0.7 percent annually, Vandling said.
