Students demonstrate the launch catapult for their drone aircraft Thursday near Tillamook, Ore. They had hoped to test the drone's ability to take aerial photographs of cormorants nesting on an offshore rock, but had to scrub the flights for lack of a permit. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife hopes to get the permit in time for nesting season next year.
